Today, Google praised 117 years since Martha Graham’s birthday. And dance aficionados everywhere remembered how one small delicate woman changed dance history forever.
She was both a dancer and a choreographer and influenced dance just as Stravinsky changed music, Picasso enriched visual arts and Frank Lloyd Wrightin had a voice in architecture.
Martha invented a new body language and transmitted passion, fury and excitement with an exceptional touch. SHE INVENTED modern dance. And we can only bow and thank her for the legacy.
Enjoy a special recording of one of her choreographies. She was really something!
